I've been running a Descent into Avernus campaign and my players are about to reach the High Hall in Elturel. While looking for a suitable map, I realized none of the ones I could find were module-accurate in terms of the central altar. The module describes it as a gauntleted fist, palm-up, made of teak wood. The fist can be opened for ceremonial purposes. There is also a (very low DC) hidden door in the palm of the fist that opens to reveal stairs to the catacombs below.
As I've never seen anyone tackle how this thing is supposed to actually look and function, I took it upon myself to figure it out. This is what I came up with!
I'm still working on the choir balcony and the catacombs (and the outside details) but this map is pretty playable now as-is. I'm also going to do a battle-damaged version of it, with details accurate to the module descriptions. The version above is more of a "before the fall" baseline.
Sorry for the low resolution, it's just a preview for now til it's done. The final version is over 10k pixels wide.
Other details: statues in the cathedral depict Torm as a lion-headed knight. Because one of my PCs is from a family of Leonin, I've made the statues lion-headed for some fun lore connections. I've also chosen purple for the main color palette because Torm is sometimes described as wearing purple-stained armor.
