Elven Ruins \[130 x 90\] - Morvold Press X James RPG Art

Nestled away in an old part of the forest, the bones of a once proud village lay ruined and bare, covered in layers of dirt and sprawling foliage. These Elven Ruins can be a great location for all kinds of encounters and narratives, from simple exploration to tracking down an ancient relic to dealing with a lingering evil.

The village is mostly rubble and remnants of what used to be, but there are a few interesting points of reference that could be used to weave into your narrative:

Obsidian Bird Shrine \- The meaning of the statue may be lost to most, but a large obsidian carved statue depicting the head of a large bird rests within a curved stone shrine. Before it rests an altar, which may have held a book or offering.

Unicorn Statue \- In another section of the ruins stands an intact statue of a Unicorn, with an offering bowl resting beneath it. The bowl seems to have held something recently, and it is unsure if elves remain, or if some other part of the fey may be paying homage.

Old Well \- A half-covered old well lay in a ruined courtyard, which may contain only water or perhaps not serves as the lair of a monstrous creature.

Preserved interiors \- A few of the chambers still have intact floors that have not been overgrown, with intricate carvings and symbols that may be important to those with Arcane knowledge, perhaps even serving as artifacts in and of themselves.

Rubble Piles \- There are several piles of rubble heaped into corners, where PC's may potentially be able to dig and clear in search of elven relics, as perhaps they were led to believe an item of power may still reside here.
