Fungal Sanctuary: A Phased Battlemap (25x20)

Let's send the party towards the Fungal Sanctuary, where large mushrooms like to spread their spores!

The map has a total of 5 phases and with each there is less and less ground without the fungal infestation. Maybe it's the mushroom people, maybe a bloater and some clickers are lurking in a cave, or maybe a druid has been messing around with cordyceps mutations?

If you are playing DnD 5e, consider the following:

• make the fungi difficult terrain
• require a saving throw from creatures that enter the area or end their turn there against being restrained or perhaps against having their action influenced by the fungal network
• deal damage to creatures in the area - necrotic, poison or psychic
• have the spores reach the surface and start a full-on outbreak should the party not stop whatever caused the spread
