So i recently found a mod for Cities Skylines (CSL Map View) that lets you output a map of your city, and then I realised how it could be used for DnD city map making.

I recreated my homebrew city in the game and it worked a treat. By setting and naming districts they'll show on the map, and any custom named buildings/roads etc also show on the map. Just deleted the highways and railways and built the city! (Also used some mods that add walls and guard towers to build the city wall). Infinite money and Infinite Demand mod means you don't have to actually play the game properly to get it going! Mod also lets you show the map icons so you can show where your temples/city services would be as well like a real map!

Threw a greyscale filter (standard windows photo app) on and added a couple of details in paint.

Makes for a really simple but easy to understand map, that can be infinitely adjusted as you go.

For longer campaigns it could even be used to show the city/region grow and develop! Plus if you enjoy CS then you can try and grow your city into the modern era to show the players the future they're fighting for haha.
